Lab 5

For this week's lab, we combined a lot of skills into one final map. It almost felt good enough to be a final project in and of itself. Last week we looked at identifying individual features, this week we took those features and reclassified images based on them. This is a handy skill to have as it reduces data load and processing time to view the reclassified data vs. the original raster.

Lab 4

The above images are the maps I produced for this week's lab. I misread the instructions and found my features visually instead of looking for spikes in the bands. The images I created represent distinct features that would appear highly different in the visual bands however. The urban material, water, and vegetation would all appear highly different in their spectral properties.

Lab 3- Erdas and Rasters

Above is my map for this week's lab. It shows the subset image I created in Erdas Imagine. The values in the legend accurately reflect the values for the subset image. I've worked with Erdas before, but only for simple operations like mosaicking rasters. It was interesting to see how data could be pulled out and displayed in more in depth ways.
